"Georgetown Yogi Inspires Lunges, Bends & Stretches on Unique Path," Georgetowner Newspaper

It's 9:30 on a summer Sunday morning. As most Washingtonians start to blink their eyes or roll back to sleep, Patty Ivey is striding toward the front of a 95-degree room packed with 60 people about to experience a nine-mile hike through the Borneo rainforest - or something like it.

"Yeas & Nays," Washington Post

Russell Crowe was spotted again, this time outside the Down Dog yoga studio in Georgetown. He wasn't all that interested in the vigorous workouts the studio offers, but he did inquire about another related art - massage. He said the production team was in desperate need. "Wilted Lotus Pose," Washington Post

The hot, steaming maw of summer is panting into your face, and all you want is a little shot of something with Freon. This, however, is not what Patty Ivey has in mind. She wants you instead in her purple and amber-walled chamber next to the canal in Georgetown, with the sunlight blazing through its plastic-sealed windows (to keep the heat in ) and the humidifier loaded and ready in the corner. "Feel Good Look Good: Yoga," Washingtonian

This Georgetown studio takes the prize for best space: 14-foot ceilings and high windows that overlook the city and the Potomac. The lightly heated room glows from candles on the windowsills. The music, thankfully, is not New Age; it borders on rock.
